Anyone offering cremation services in the State of California is required to be licensed (as a funeral establishment) by
the California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau which is a division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. In
addition, the actual crematory where the cremation takes place is also required to hold a license by the same state agency.
Both, the funeral establishment and the crematory are also required to have a licensed manager overseeing the operations.
